Davinci-linux-open-source Digest, Vol 46, Issue 108

Tivy, Robert
There is no general EDMA user interface.  The EDMA APIs are in the kernel and are called by device drivers mostly.

TI's LinuxUtils package contains a general EDMA resource manager that can be called by user programs, but it is only for allocating/freeing channels and waiting on the EDMA completion ISR.  Actual operation of the acquired EDMA channel is performed by the user program through a virtual pointer that is mapped to the EDMA registers (i.e., no nice APIs), and since the whole bank of registers is mapped it is all too easy to write "someone else's" EDMA registers and mess up the system.  This module is designed for use by ARM-side codecs that come pre-packaged with the DVSDK and have already been validated to "do the right thing", so use it at your own risk.

Regards,

- Rob

EDMA code is already in the kernel.  The code is at arch/arm/mach-davinci/dma.
EDMA can be used for both DSP and ARM.

In
http://wiki.davincidsp.com/index.php/DaVinci_PSP_03.01_Phase_2_Release_Notes

I'd like to make this change.
First of all arago is more easy to use and can also be used to compile
u-boot and the kernel, so I have put arago before
DaVinci PSP 03.01 Build in the Arago OE environment
and after
Download DaVinci PSP 03.01 Components

then I have delete -n from git clone because I had git checkout problems.

Can I modify the wiki?
